SEEKING NEW BOARD MEMBERS FOR 2025-26 SEASON!
Board Positions Open Annually- Current OPEN positions:

Coon Rapids Cardinals Basketball Club (CRCBC) has annual openings on the Board and is always seeking dedicated volunteers to join our team!
Every Board member plays an important role in ensuring the organization’s success. Your involvement allows us to:
• Operate efficiently at a high level
• Enhance programming and technology
• Continuously improve the overall experience for players and families
Note: Term lengths can be adjusted based on your availability or the number of years your player has left in the program.

Position Descriptions
Board Member Time Commitment:
Board members attend monthly meetings that generally run for 1 hour. We ask for all board members to assist with major events such as tryouts, youth nights, the Coon Rapids boys tournament, and banquets. Each role on the board requires a varying amount of time commitment outside of the board meetings.

***PRESIDENT:
- Part of the executive committee
- Oversees the travel basketball program, peeps program and in-house program
- Involved with addressing all club, parent, coach and player issues
- Runs monthly board meetings
- Involved with executive board meetings
- Selects dates and other logistics for tryouts and attends tryouts to ensure tryouts are run in alignment with club procedures
- Attends and participates in coach interviews and participates with coach selection
- Volunteers to help with girls and boys travel tournaments
- Attends and speaks at club events, youth nights, and end of season boys and girls banquets
- Works closely with executive members in making club decisions throughout the season
***BOY'S VICE-PRESIDENT:
- Part of the executive committee
- Oversees boys travel teams
- Attends monthly board member meetings
- Participates in executive board member meetings
- Point person for any issues regarding coaches, players or parents on the boys teams
- Attend tryouts and ensure they are run in alignment with club procedures
- Attends and participates in coach interviews and assists in coach selection
- Attends and assists with coordinating the boys coaches clinic
- Volunteers to help with the girls and boys travel tournaments
- Coordinates the 10,000 Shot Club program
- Works with the boys varsity basketball coach and facilities director to coordinate boys youth night
- Works closely with the executive members in making club decisions throughout the season
***GIRL'S VICE-PRESIDENT:
- Part of the executive committee
- Oversees girls travel teams
- Attends monthly board member meetings and participates in executive board member meetings
- Point person for any issues regarding coaches, players or parents on the girls teams
- Attends tryouts and ensures they are run in alignment with club procedures
- Attends and participates in coach interviews and assists in coach selection
- Attends and assists with coordinating the girls coaches clinic
- Volunteers to help with the girls and boys travel tournaments
- Works with the girls varsity basketball coach and facilities director to coordinate girls youth night
- Works closely with the executive members in making club decisions throughout the season
***TREASURER:
- Part of the executive committee
*SECRETARY:
- Part of the executive committee
- Keeps monthly meeting board meeting minutes
- Post monthly board meeting minutes on the CRCBC website
- Attends monthly board member meetings and participates in executive board member meetings
***REGISTRAR:
- Creates registrations for travel basketball and the Peeps program
- Reviews travel registrations for boundary issues and reaches out to parents if waivers are needed to play within our club
- Attends tryouts and checks in players (assists anyone registering late)
- Rosters teams in Crossbar
- Reviews monthly payment plans for any failed payments and communicates with families and coaches regarding payment
- Works closely with the webmaster/communications, and oftentimes, 1 person will serve dual roles as registrar AND webmaster/communications, as these positions often overlap
- The past few years there have been 2 people sharing the Registrar and Webmaster/Communications roles.
**WEBMASTER/COMMUNICATIONS:
- Makes changes and edits to the Crossbar website
- Sends out all club-wide communications
- Responds to the club’s Gmail account, and directs emails to the appropriate person on the board
- Works closely with the Registrar/Communications, and oftentimes, 1 person will serve dual roles as webmaster/communications AND registrar, as these positions often overlap
- The past few years there have been 2 people sharing the Registrar and Webmaster/Communications roles.
*SOCIAL MEDIA:
- Creates and posts on social media: Facebook and Instagram
- This role works closely with communications to get photos from teams from their tournaments
***BOYS TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR:
- Signs all boys teams up for their tournaments for the year, including the state tournament at the end of the season
- Communicates with families and coaches when tournament schedules come out
- Creates registration for the Coon Rapids Tournament
- Promotes the tournament and creates the tournament schedule
- Works with the other committees to provide concessions and volunteers for the tournament
- Sets up board volunteers to help work the tournament
- Sets up refs and trainers for the tournament
- Works with other board members to set up the tournament (Friday night) and work the tournament (Saturday and Sunday)
*COACH LIAISON/TRUSTED COACHES:
- Sends coaches background checks and coach training materials through Trusted Coaches
- Makes sure all coach training is complete before the season starts
- Assists in coach interviews
- Acts as a first step facilitator between parents/players and coach issues
- Also works with the girls and boys vice presidents and the president if issues need to be taken to the next step
**FACILITIES DIRECTOR:
- Responsible for scheduling practices for all travel teams
- Works closely with the Anoka Hennepin Parks and Recreation Department, the athletic director at Coon Rapids High School, and Anoka Ramsey Community College to coordinate practice times
- Responsible for scheduling gyms for tournaments and other special events (Pictures, boys and girls youth nights).
- Works with all coaches for scheduling requests. There can be daily updates when practices need to change due to cancellations by Anoka Hennepin Schools. Must be available to respond quickly.
- Estimated time is 1-2 hours per week.
*EQUIPMENT DIRECTOR:
- Keeps storage unit organized
- Makes sure there are enough supplies (basketballs, first aid kits, score books) for coaches and players
- Keeps count of t-shirts for Peeps, try-outs, and coaches
- Picks up supplies for the boys tournament, youth nights, and banquets
- Distributes and collects equipment bags throughout the season
*FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR:
- Researches different fundraisers to find ones suitable for our club, looking for good profit margin, but also a good sell for the club
- Selects and implements fundraisers
- Provides fundraising details to the webmaster to put on our website
- Creates communications and sends to social media and communications coordinator to post on social media and email to CRCBC families
- Works with fundraising committee to successfully roll out fundraisers
- Responsible for sponsorships
- Past fundraisers have included selling Kettle River Pizza, Snap Raise, and dine-to-donate nights at restaurants
*VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR:
- Assists in determining volunteer needs for fundraisers, boys tournament, and more
- Creates sign-ups for families to volunteer
- Keeps track of the families who have volunteered
- Ensures that ALL families complete their family commitment
- Works closely with communications to remind families of upcoming volunteer commitments and/or sign-ups
**SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR:
- Responsible for planning, organizing and setting up all the details for picture day, youth nights and the end-of-season banquets
- Creates fliers and prints for any events
- Organizes people to be at school open houses to recruit
- Organizes any other special events for the club, like our summer jamboree in the park
**APPAREL CHAIR:
- Manages and coordinates various aspects of apparel for CRCBC, including uniforms and fan gear
- Oversees the production process from design to delivery, coordinating with supplier regarding timelines, budget, and quality of merchandise
- Works with the webmaster/communications chair to send out communication regarding fan gear and uniforms
**CONCESSIONS CHAIR:
- Responsible for purchasing items to be sold at the concession stand and for arranging any vendors for the boy's tournament in November
- Helps set up and clean up before and after the boy's tournament
- Maintains records of the items purchased for the tournament
- Works closely with the tournament director and the equipment director, as many of the things needed for the tournament are in the club's storage facility
*MEMBER AT LARGE:
- This role is designed for people interested in joining the board, but wanting to see what it is like.
- Members at large will attend meetings and help various board members with tasks when needed
- The goal is for a member at large to take over a role by the next season
