CRCBC Family Commitment
YOUR COMMITMENT TO THE CLUB
Coon Rapids Cardinals Basketball Club is a volunteer-run organization. In order to run successful tournaments, we need all families to participate according to the policy below.
The family commitment hours can only be met by working at the boy's tournament.
NOTE: this is new this year. We aren't running a girl's tournament in 2025, so families can only work at the boy's tournament. We hope to bring the girls tournament back in 2026.
Boy's Tournament: Saturday and Sunday, November 22-23, 2025!
GRADES 3 AND 4:
- 3rd/4th Grade families need to sign up for 1 shift (3 hours) per player, with a family cap of 2 shifts per family.
- ALL THIRD GRADE BOYS FAMILIES MUST SIGN UP FOR ONE SHIFT AT THE BOY'S TOURNAMENT, EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY NOT HAVE STARTED THEIR TOURNAMENT SEASON BEFORE THE BOY'S TOURNAMENT.
GRADES 5 - 8: (NEW in 2025)
- Each family in grades 5-8 needs to sign up for 1 shift (3 hours each) PER PLAYER, with a family cap of 2 shifts per family.
NOTE: this is new for grades 5-8 this year. Typically, each family needs to sign up for TWO shift per player. Since we do not have a girls tournament this year, we are requiring just ONE shift per player. This may change in 2026.
Families who do not fulfill their volunteer requirements will be invoiced $200 the week after their respective tournament. Half of this payment will be due upon receipt and the other half due by December 1st, and must be paid to remain in good standing with CRCBC and not affect player eligibility. If the payment is not made, your player will be unable to participate in any practices, games, or team/club events until it is.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- CRCBC uses SignUpGenius to coordinate family commitment hours and shifts. Prior to each tournament, an email will be sent out to CRCBC families, asking families to sign up for their desired shifts. Shift work includes check-in/admission tables, concessions, game clocks, and more.
- Each family in grades 5-8 needs to sign up for TWO shifts (3 hours each) PER PLAYER (maximum of 3 shifts/9 hours per family). 3rd/4th Grade families need to sign up for 1 shift (up to 3 hours) per player.
- To ensure the completion of your commitment, you will need to complete all of your shifts. If you DO NOT fulfill your commitment, you will be charged $200. It is your responsibility to check in AND out at the volunteer registration table to make sure your hours are recorded.
- Please arrive at your designated location 15 minutes prior to your shift start time and check in with the Volunteer coordinator. They will provide you with instructions on where to go and if any additional training is required.
- While we prefer adults volunteers, we do allow older siblings/family members to help if needed. Volunteers must be 16 or older.
- Parent Head Coaches and their ONE Assistant Coach are not required to complete volunteer shifts at the tournaments, as their requirements are met through their coaching duties.
- Our home tournaments are the only opportunities for our families to complete volunteer hours.
- If your shift(s) falls during your child’s game(s), you must still complete and fulfill your volunteer requirements.
- If for some reason you have an emergency and have difficulty completing your commitment, you are welcome to find a responsible adult to work your shift.
- If you are not interested in working the tournament, a flat $150 Volunteer Payment can be made to the organization to cover your volunteer hours. You can pay for this during registration.
